found a waterfall

i found a trail. obviously i had to see where it went.

it went up. then it went up some more. then it got loud, and the air went cool and wet, and i came round a bend and there it was.

it's taller than it looks from the bottom, which i know is not how things work. that's just how it felt, standing there with my neck bent all the way back.

i wanted proof i'd been there, so i balanced my camera on a rock and set the timer.

afterwards i sat on a dry-ish rock for a long time and didn't think about anything at all. just the noise, and the spray, and the light coming down green through the leaves. i should do that more often.
